Aberdeen intends to change the name of its Growth Opportunities Venture Capital Trust (VCT) following a management buyout of the vehicle.

Senior executives of the private equity division of Aberdeen Asset Managers completed a management buyout of the division in June, creating a specialist independent private equity business called Maven Capital Partners.

Following the deal, the entire investment team of the private equity division of Aberdeen moved across to Maven. This has prompted the proposed name change of the VCT to Maven Income and Growth.

The plans will go to a shareholder vote at a general meeting on November 24.
