L&G to cut 70 jobs from platform and distribution arm
Legal & General is to cut 70 jobs from its platform and distribution arm ahead of the RDR.
The move will affect sales and marketing roles across the insurer’s platform and distribution arm and will see the workforce cut from 160 to 90.
As part of the restructure all those currently working in L&G’s platform and distribution business will have to reapply for the remaining roles.
A spokesman from L&G says: “To ensure we have the best set up to service our clients in platforms and distribution post RDR, we are consulting with our trade union Unite and MCF, our internal body which represents management grade employees, on potential organisational changes to the sales and marketing teams.”
The move comes as reports suggest Aviva is considering selling or closing up to 15 divisions as part of a business overhaul.
