London & Capital appoints chief investment officer
Wealth manager London & Capital has named Pau Morilla-Giner as chief investment officer, replacing Ashok Shah.
Shah, appointed chief investment officer in 2002, has worked closely with Morilla-Giner over past eighteen months to manage the transition and will remain as investment director.
Morilla-Giner joined London & Capital in 2008 as head of equities, commodities and alternative investments form Pragma Wealth Management, and has previously worked for JP Morgan Asset Management and Omega Capital.
The new chief investment officer says: “Over the last few years Ashok and I have worked closely together to bring the capital preservation philosophy - London & Capital’s very DNA - to the heart of the investment process.
“We have continued to invest in our highly sophisticated risk management capabilities, which we believe truly differentiates us in terms of our ability to manage the downside and means we can deliver when it matters most.
“These are stressful times for clients, but we have built a talented and diverse investment team, which I look forward to leading as we seek to consolidate our achievements and move on to the next phase of our growth.”
Morilla-Giner will remain as lead manager on London & Capital’s equities and commodities funds, and will also be responsible for the development of the firm’s macro-economic views.
