The fund’s rating had previously been suspended by OBSR, following uncertainty over his position.

In a statement, OBSR reveals: “Following the announcement that John Botham, fund manager of the Aviva Investors European Equity fund, is leaving the business, we are removing the fund from the OBSR Fund Ratings Service.

“The fund was previously suspended when the restructuring of the equity desk in London was announced.

It adds: “Going forward, the fund will be managed by Mark Denham, who has worked on the European equity team since 2003. We will continue to monitor the fund’s progress under the new manager.”

Botham joined Morley, the predecessor of Aviva Investors, in 2007 as head of European equities from Henderson Global Investors.
