Deutsche Bank and Omega Partners to launch new fund
Deutsche Bank and Omega Advisors have announced plans to launch a new Ucits fund on the bank’s platform this December.
The DB Platinum Omega fund will be managed by Leon Cooperman, the chairman and chief executive officer of Omega.
The fund will largely mirrors its off-shore counterpart but with a few adjustments made in order for it to meet Ucits requirements.
Cooperman is experience in running the long-biased Omega Overseas Partners fund; a equity long/short strategy that mainly invests in US mid- and large-caps.
Tarun Nagpal, Deutsche Bank’s European head of fund derivatives, says: “Partnering with hedge fund veteran Leon Cooperman represents another key milestone for Deutsche Bank and is testament to our investors that dbalternatives will strive to provide access to the world’s leading hedge fund managers in Ucits.”
