Investment trust stalwart Ruddick joins City of London Group board

Lynn Ruddick has joined the board of emerging markets asset manager City of London Group as non-executive director.

The new City of London Group board member – non-executive chairman of Fidelity Special Values and British Assets Trust – replaces retiring director George Robb.

Ruddick is also non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust and the BlackRock Frontiers Investment Trust.

Andrew Davison, chairman of City of London, says: “On behalf of the directors, I wish George a long and happy retirement.

“As a long-term board member, and shareholder, George’s contribution to the development of the group has been important and we will miss his participation in our discussions.”

Davison hailed the appointment of Ruddick, highlighting her expertise and experience.

Ruddick was a former chairman of the National Association of Pension Funds investment committee and previously headed the Merrill Lynch Investment Managers investment trust unit before retiring in 2004.
