Majedie Asset Management has appointed Richard Staveley to work on its UK small cap team.

Staveley, who was previously at River & Mercantile Asset Management, is joining to work on Majedie’s flagship £1.8bn Majedie UK Equity fund.

Within this, Staveley will be co-managing around £600m of small and mid cap investments with Adam Parker, who is also a director the firm.

In his previous role, Staveley ran the £99.8m River & Mercantile UK Equity Income fund and the £38.2m River & Mercantile UK Equity Smaller Companies fund.

Parker says: “I am hugely looking forward to welcoming Richard onto the Majedie small cap desk.

”Having crossed paths many times over the years, we have a strong mutual respect and, more importantly for our clients, a complementary investment approach.”
