Skandia hands Wellington £52m mandate for global fund
Skandia Investment Group has awarded a £52m mandate to Wellington Management’s Peter Higgins for the Skandia Global Dynamic Equity fund.
The mandate – funded by reallocating assets from other US allocations – for the US asset manager is aimed at diversifying the investment styles of US allocations within the fund.
Francois Zagame, portfolio manager of the Skandia Global Dynamic Equity fund, says: “We have been looking for a while to add an aggressive manager to our US allocation in the Skandia Global Dynamic Equity fund and Peter Higgins fits the bill perfectly.” (article continues below)
According to Skandia, Higgins and his team focus on finding “out of favour companies, with valuation anomalies”, with a strategy of investing in between 50 to 80 stocks.
