Newton chief among New Year’s honours list
Helena Morrissey, chief executive of Newton Investment Management, was among a number of people from the financial services industry to receive a gong in the New Year’s honours list.

Morrissey was awarded a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for services to UK business.
She is also founder of the 30% club, which aims to encourage more women into corporate board positions in the UK.
Andrew Sentence, former member of the Monetary Policy Committee, was awarded a CBE for services to the economy.
David Hall, chairman of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, also earned a CBE for services to the financial services industry.
George Iacobescu, chief executive of the Canary Wharf Group and described as “landlord to the bankers”, was awarded a knighthood. Iacobescu also sits on the advisory board of lobbying group TheCityUK.
