Standard Life chief executive David Nish has been appointed to the board of the UK Green Investment Bank by business secretary Vince Cable.
Nish is one of six non-executive directors, including Julia King, Fred Maroudas, Tom Murley, Isobel Sharp and Tessa Tennant.
Shaun Kingsbury has been appointed as chief executive of the Green Investment Bank, he was previously an investment partner at private equity firm Hudson Clean Energy Partners.
Kingsbury will work alongside bank chair Robert Smith and deputy chair Adrian Montague.
Vince Cable says: “I have every confidence that the team will build on the good progress already made, leading the bank into full operation and developing a truly ground breaking institution.”
The chief executive and non-executive directors will take up their new posts in late October.
Other investment industry veterans among the appointees include Tom Murley, who leads the renewable energy team at HgCapital; and Tessa Tennant who co-founded the Jupiter Ecology fund.
